It sounds like Pixar is 10 for 10 with the release of Pete Docter and Bob Peterson’s Up. The wonderful blog Upcoming Pixar has seen it a little early, so head on over and read their review!

Sad news today. Wayne Allwine, the third voice of Mickey Mouse in the character’s history, has passed away at the age of 62.

Jim Hill Media has a nice write-up about the upcoming documentary about the Sherman Brothers, the classic songwriting dynamo for the Disney studios. The film opens this Friday in New York and LA.

Since Pixar’s latest film UP hit Cannes, there has been a flood of positive buzz. While this comes as no surprise, it was nice to see a mainstream media force like CNN pick up on it this early. I was ten years old when Toy Story came out, and now I’ll get to see their tenth film. I’m excited.

The full trailer that was released for Disney’s The Princess and the Frog is causing a mini-controversy. It reveals a pretty major spoiler about the plot, and that story angle is upsetting a lot of people. Is Disney’s first black princess going to have much screentime as a black princess?

Joe Ranft was the beloved and hugely talented story artist who worked on The Brave Little Toaster, The Lion King, Nightmare Before Christmas, and most of the Pixar films before his life was tragically taken by a car accident. Jeff Pepper has a sneak peek at an interview with Joe that will appear in the latest addition of Walt’s People.

Pixar’s second film A Bug’s Life is set to hit the stores for the first time in High Definition on May 19th, and Upcoming Pixar has an exclusive early review. I can’t wait to get my hands on this and review it for Animation on Blu-ray.
